Okay! So Flight’s been out for a while, I plan to do a big coverage soon of all the stuff I did on that project, but I thought I’d post some stuff below in the meantime.
This has to be one of the coolest projects I’ve ever worked on, and it was so great working with the Atomic Fiction crew again after Transformers the year before. Cant say enough great things!!!
Flight has cleaned up a ton of awards, as well as receiving a VES nomination! It’s pretty rare these days that one studio does all of the visual effects for a film, however AF created all of the visual effects for Flight, which was a lot of invisible/seamless effects that aren’t very noticeable, ranging all the way to the intense plane crash the entire film is situated around.
Coolest thing is during the end of production, we’re all working crazy hours, we received feedback that they wanted there to be a pilot and co-pilot in the digital shots of the plane as it was an empty cockpit. So Jim Gibbs, one of the talented artists on the show snuck in myself and Woei Lee the head compositor for Flight into the cockpit. It’s not really noticeable, but I’m happy to have cameo’d in the film! haha
Below is a video of the plane crash from the film

Lastly, I just wanted to say, Atomic Fiction is by far the coolest studio I’ve ever had the privilege of working for. Those guys are amazing, I’ve loved every minute of working at that place! Inspiring people and inspiring work!
